HillPulse started with a simple frustration and a question that had no good answer: why is it so hard for ordinary Canadians to know what their own government is doing?
I wasn't a lobbyist or a policy wonk. I was just a Canadian paying attention and increasingly frustrated that I had no reliable, plain-language way to follow what Parliament was actually doing. Bills were passing. Taxes were changing. Immigration rules were being rewritten. And for most Canadians, it was all happening in the background, buried in legal language on government websites that nobody visits.
I started looking for something that could translate all of it federal and provincial, clearly and quickly. I found nothing built for Canada. Not a single venture-backed platform. Not a single mobile app. Just a free volunteer project running on a side server somewhere, last updated whenever its one developer had time.
In the United States, companies like FiscalNote and Quorum have built multimillion-dollar businesses doing exactly this monitoring legislation, translating it, delivering it. FiscalNote went public at a $1.3 billion valuation. Quorum generates over $60 million a year. And not one of them serves a single Canadian.
That's not because the market doesn't exist here. It's because nobody had decided to build it. I decided to be the one who did.
This isn't about politics. HillPulse is deliberately non-partisan we don't advocate, we don't editorialize, we don't take sides. What we do is take the dense, inaccessible language of government and turn it into something a working Canadian can actually use.
Because here's what I believe: a democracy works better when its citizens are informed. And right now, 38 million Canadians are navigating their democracy with almost no real-time information about what their government is doing. HillPulse exists to change that one bill at a time, one province at a time, until every Canadian can know what Ottawa is doing before it affects them.
HillPulse today is the foundation a validated concept, a live platform, and a fully documented business ready to be built. The app in every Canadian's pocket is where this is going. The sentiment data layer that gives Canadians a real civic voice is what makes it different from everything else.
The concept is built. The vision is clear. Now it needs the right operator someone with the capital and infrastructure to take this from foundation to platform. If that's you, the investor portal has everything you need to make a decision.
HillPulse exists for one reason: to close the gap between what Canadian governments do and what Canadians know. Join us.
